Jordan took the team from its low position in the league during the late 70s and early 80s to the top of their game when he joined the Bulls in 1984. Not only did he redefine the team's standing, he changed the face of basketball, becoming the greatest player of all time. He became Rookie of the Year, and brought the Bulls back to the playoffs.

Larry Bird called him "God disguised as Michael Jordan." He was awarded the Most Valuable Player five times. The Celtics would more than once keep the Bulls from the championship in the late 80s. In 1992-93 the Bulls met the Celtics legendary record of the 60s with a three-peat, winning three championships in a row. That same year Jordan announced his retirement and Scottie Pippen lead the team.

In 1995, Jordan returned to the team, and picked up right where he left off. By 1996-97 they had tied the second best record in league history and won their fifth NBA championship. They again achieved a three-peat by winning the 1998 Finals. It would be their last championship to date, and also the last year with Michael Jordan.
