The Los Angeles Clippers' franchise was founded in 1970. As the Buffalo Braves, to the San Diego Clippers, before becoming the Los Angeles Clippers in 1984, the team has never seen a division or conference title, or an NBA Championship.

It wasn't until 1992 that the team saw their first winning season in 13 years. The team followed with a dismal record over the next few years, trying to hire coaches that brought success to other teams, such as one season with former Laker star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as assistant coach.
In 2005, the Clippers announced the building of a state-of-the-art practice facility in Playa Vista. The same year saw changes for the better within the team, as they achieved the first winning record in 14 seasons, taking their first spot in the playoffs since 1997.
In 2006, the team won their first NBA playoff game in 13 years. They then proceeded to take their second win a couple days later, wining 2-0 for the first time in the franchise's history. This became the first playoff series since the team was located in Buffalo. The team has seen increased demand for their games recently, and many will be nationally televised.
